Vanessa Paradis

47-year-old Vanessa Paradis has never been embarrassed by the gap between her teeth. On the contrary, the diastema helped the actress receive many lucrative contracts. The Chanel fashion house, together with the Colette boutique, has released a limited edition of brooches in the shape of Vanessa’s slightly open mouth.
Some girls even came to the dentist's office asking for the same gap to be made.
Victoria Beckham

Style icon and celebrity trendsetter. This is how we perceive Victoria Beckham. But there are those few who remember the girl from her work in the Spice Girls group, when the star had only to smile and the whole impression immediately collapsed.
The peppercorn's teeth were of different lengths. But the girl didn’t worry for long, she turned to a good clinic - and voila! Where necessary, they filed, where necessary, bleached. Miracles of dentistry.
Kirsten Dunst

At the age of 12, Kirsten Dunst starred in the thriller Interview with the Vampire. The actress did not need to wear fake fangs, she had her own. Filming ended, but Kirsten did not correct the defect. The star’s enamel has also noticeably darkened, but this also doesn’t bother her much.

Over the years, this man, like wine, becomes more handsome and respectable. In his youth, Cage was not very lucky in love and career; the actor could not get out of the shadow of his star family.
Now we think: what if it was the new teeth that helped the actor achieve success in his life?!
Katy Perry

Unlike her colleagues, Katy Perry doesn’t like her smile, but she’s not going to change it either. According to the star, only children should wear braces.
These teeth are the poison of my beauty. I would like them to be perfect. And they are so crooked, as if they were not teeth, but rocky mountains,” Katie said self-critically in an interview.
Celebrity crooked teeth, or “non-Hollywood” smiles
It turns out that in the world of cinema there is a place for celebrities with crooked teeth.

Hollywood beauty standards are so deeply ingrained in our minds that we can no longer imagine any celebrities having crooked teeth. However, quite a few of our favorite actors cannot be counted among the owners of Hollywood smiles. But does it really matter if you are talented and famous? We present to your attention a selection of stars who have achieved universal recognition even without perfectly straight teeth.
Keira Knightley

One of the most sought-after modern actresses, who never agrees to exchange her large and not very straight teeth for artificial ones. Apparently, genetics have an effect. Being British by birth, Knightley, like almost all of her fellow countrymen, is not a fan of unnatural Hollywood smiles and prefers to go to the dentist only for the purpose of a preventive examination.

Another Hollywood diva who does not accept templates. Kirsten's mother tried to force the girl to wear records when she was a child. However, the future star already knew how to show character and simply threw the orthodontic structure out the window, which, by the way, she does not regret at all. Dunst is proud of his slightly protruding fangs and calls them his “highlight.”
Morena Baccarin

Looking at the actress in the role of Deadpool's sexy and slightly crazy girlfriend, the last thing you notice is the girl's teeth. Of course, they are far from ideal, but who cares when you are a slender beauty with regular facial features who looks amazing even in a strict jacket and with an ultra-short haircut?
Kate Moss
Oddly enough, uneven teeth are not an obstacle to a successful career not only for actors; in the modeling business, a perfect smile is also not the main thing. And an excellent proof of this is Kate Moss, a supermodel who has knocked off the pedestal the previously unattainable goddesses of the fashion world: Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Linda Evangelista. Kate, unlike the above divas, has never been perfect. Very thin, pale, with an angular face and an uneven smile, Moss looked more like an ugly boy than a catwalk star. In general, she represented what all designers had long craved - a unisex model. Thanks to her uniqueness and androgyny, Kate literally turned from an unknown girl into a superstar in just a couple of years, and since then - for about 26 years - she has not left the covers of glossy publications.
Tom Hardy

Despite the fact that Tom Hardy does not look as impeccable as the famous Hollywood sex symbols Brad Pitt, Chris Hemsworth and Ryan Reynolds, he has more than enough fans. Outwardly, the actor looks more like a gangster than a prince or a superhero, and his famous “gangster” smile only enhances this impression. And his reputation is tarnished - Hardy had serious problems with alcohol and drugs in the past. However, Tom has more than once been ahead of the above-mentioned celebrities in the ratings of the best actors and the most handsome men. Apparently being flawless isn't very fashionable these days.
Henry Cavill

Here he is, the ideal man: tall, handsome, with a great figure and loves animals (Cavill represents one of the wildlife conservation foundations), in general, a real superman. It seems that he actually flew to us from another planet where perfect creatures live. However, everything is far from so simple - in order to become the “man of steel”, Cavill had to endure a series of failures and even take a leading position in the ranking of the unluckiest guys in Hollywood, and then, having received the role of Clark Kent, settled in the gym for several months. Henry had to perform thirty or more approaches to a 140-kilogram barbell several times a day. The result was not long in coming - the actor in the shortest possible time became the owner of a body worthy of the most powerful superhero, when looking at which it is absolutely not important whether his teeth are straight or not. Yes, even if they are not equal, there must be at least some flaw in this person!
Kate Middleton

The Duchess of Cambridge is adored all over the world, although her appearance is far from the generally accepted ideal. Kate Middleton has an overbite that causes her chin to protrude. The duchess did not dare to undergo serious interventions, but experts say that Prince William’s wife probably had veneers.
Bite and its effect on appearance
In dentistry, occlusion is the closure of the teeth of the upper and lower jaws. Their ideal mutual arrangement is observed - alas! - only 15% of the population. With a correct bite, the upper row protrudes slightly outward compared to the lower row. The lucky person has harmonious facial features - the teeth are arranged in an arc evenly and without gaps.

But sometimes, due to injuries, diseases or abnormalities in the development of the jaw bone, the bite is formed incorrectly. The teeth are crooked and there may be gaps between them. In dentistry, there are several types of pathology.
Distal bite
Its distinctive features are that the upper row of teeth protrudes significantly above the lower one. Its owners are characterized by forward deviation of the head from the common axis, slight stoop, impaired nasal breathing, and frequent headaches. In childhood, such people often have grade 2 and 3 adenoids.

Many owners of a distal bite experience a decrease in the height of the lower third of the face: the upper lip is raised, pronounced nasolabial and supramental folds appear, the face takes on a surprised or hesitant expression... Over the years, hypertonicity of the masticatory muscles develops, which makes smiling more and more difficult.
Mesial bite
The lower row of teeth protrudes forward compared to the upper. The owners of such a bite are people with a massive lower jaw and chin and, sometimes, a very thin upper lip. When standing or walking, they lean back a little.

They do not have breathing problems, but they often experience various disturbances in diction that affect its clarity. Due to increased tension in the jaw joint, the face takes on an offended expression.
Deep bite
Signs of a deep bite are that the lower incisors overlap half the length of the upper ones. In this case, the chin appears flattened, the lower third of the face visually decreases, and the lower lip seems to turn outward. If a person has a high forehead, the disproportion of the upper part of the face is noticeable. Often those with a deep bite have the habit of pursing their lips.

Due to hypertonicity of the masticatory muscles, the pathology causes frequent headaches, difficulty eating, and increased tooth wear, which makes the lower third of the face appear even smaller with age. In patients with deep bites, the problem is solved not only with orthodontic treatment, but also with prosthetics.
Open bite
The lateral or front teeth do not close completely; a gap forms between them. When it is present in the anterior region, the person’s mouth is slightly open and often dry lips, and the facial expression involuntarily seems stupid or surprised. Such patients have great problems with nasal breathing, since they breathe predominantly through their mouths. If the gap occurs on the side, the cheeks appear sunken (the same happens when several teeth are missing).
Crossbite
The lower teeth of those with a crossbite do not overlap the upper teeth correctly. This type of bite can be unilateral or bilateral and can affect the lateral and anterior regions. In addition to a pronounced displacement of the jaws, the anomaly is characterized by increased chewing of food on one side and facial asymmetry. Such patients often have impaired breathing and speech, and develop gastrointestinal diseases.
Madonna
The pop icon has always played by her own rules. When in 2014 she decided to put gold aligners on all her front teeth, no one was particularly surprised. “Yes, gold teeth... It pisses everyone off, and that’s why I wear them,” the singer proudly declared. Although the extravagant image was soon replaced by another, Madonna's radiant smile, which perfectly matched her expensive jewelry, will be remembered forever.

Methods for correcting bite
When identifying a problem, the question arises: how to fix uneven teeth?
This problem can be solved even at a serious stage. Orthodontic treatment can be performed at any age. Modern orthodontics has a whole arsenal of ways to solve this problem.
The first examination should be carried out on a child at 3 years old to identify temporary malocclusion. At this age, treatment is not carried out. You can prescribe special exercises that will help eliminate the pathology. If a child has uneven teeth, then treatment can begin no earlier than 6-7 years, when the patient has permanent teeth.
Correcting the bite is also possible in later years, but the sooner this is done, the fewer problems a person will encounter, the closer to the ideal the result will be.
Young children can use removable devices. At a later age, various correction methods are used. The most effective of them is permanent fixed braces. The treatment aims to correct malocclusion – the pathological position of the jaws.
The principle of their influence is constant pressure on the teeth in the direction of their optimal location. Braces eliminate both crowding of teeth and the opposite pathology – interdental spaces.
The main advantage of braces is their versatility: in the absence of age restrictions, a positive result is guaranteed. Another positive point is the speed of achieving the goal - from six months.
Alternative methods to traditional braces are:
- Options with artificial sapphires;
- Orthodontic devices with ceramic elements;
- Lingual braces, which are placed on the inner surface of the teeth.
After eliminating the problem, retainers should be worn for some time to consolidate the results.
The use of braces is limited to a number of indications:
- Diseases of bone tissue and blood;
- Pathologies of the heart and endocrine system;
- Oncological processes;
- Tuberculosis;
- HIV infection.
