Is it possible to perfectly clean the oral cavity from plaque and bacteria? Yes, if you use not only a toothbrush and toothpaste, which cope with the task by 60%, but also use a irrigator. It is with its help that you can remove up to 90-99% of all contaminants in the oral cavity, maintain healthy teeth and gums, and also reduce visits to the dentist. Naturally, we are talking about those visits that arise out of necessity. Preventive examinations, no matter how ideal your teeth are, need to be done on an ongoing basis.

Irrigator Donfeel OR-820D Compact

Today, many users are interested in such models of irrigators as Donfeel OR-820M and OR-820D Сompact. The editors of the UltraSmile.ru portal will tell you the most relevant and useful information about them.

Model Donfeel OR-820M discontinued

The Donfil brand was created by Russian engineers back in 2001. The company immediately began to position itself as a manufacturer of oral care products. And it was then that the team began to develop the first irrigator. But the model was released only in 2007, it was called Donfeel OR-820M.

The presented model was unusual and stood out clearly against the background of those already existing at that time. It had a nasal attachment that could be used at home to rinse the nasal sinuses to prevent or treat colds and viral infections. In addition, the Donfeel OR-820M oral irrigator pleased users with its wear resistance, which was ensured by the presence of a reliable AC motor and a hydraulic pump with spring valves.

This device is one of the most compact stationary irrigators

As the manufacturer himself assures, those who purchased the model in 2007 and later still use it without complaints, and also have the opportunity to easily and inexpensively repair the device, since the company produces affordable repair kits for its maintenance.

Progress does not stand still, and those companies that keep up with the times take advantage of its achievements. That is why Donfil decided not to stop there and released a more advanced model - the OR-820D irrigator. It, unlike its predecessor, is based on a platform with a DC motor 1, has smaller dimensions and other improvements. We propose to talk about its features further, since the OR-820M version has been discontinued.

Oral irrigator Donfeel OR-820M with nasal attachments (set 2)

Donfeel OR-820M is the latest generation oral irrigator. It is especially indispensable for people with weak gums, those with bridges, crowns, braces, and implants. It is also suitable for pregnant women and all people who want to avoid problems with gums and teeth in the future.

In fact, the Donfeel OR-820M irrigator is a “2 in 1” device.

  • Oral hygiene.

The irrigator effectively rinses hard-to-reach areas (gingival folds, periodontal pockets, interdental spaces, etc.) It easily copes with bleeding gums and periodontal disease.

  • Nasal rinsing.

Thanks to special spray nozzles, the irrigator can be used to rinse and clean the nose. He proved himself especially good in the prevention and treatment of colds of the nasopharynx.

The OR-820M is a must-have for every family. It is very relevant for residents of megacities, whose air is filled with various allergens, dust, car exhaust derivatives and other microparticles.

The nasal cleansing mechanisms that are given to us by nature are simply not able to cope with the onslaught of these pollutants. Therefore, ENT specialists recommend safe methods of rinsing the nose. One such method is to use a Donfeel waterpik. Its advantages over nasal devices:

  • There is no addiction or dependence.
  • Budget savings. Now you do not need to buy additional equipment and expensive medications at the pharmacy. The irrigator can cope perfectly with the problem of nasal congestion.

Operating principle of the device:

The irrigator produces a thin pulsating stream of water with a diameter of 0.8 mm. It passes through a specially shaped handle and mixes with air. The channel in the handle has a thread similar to the thread of the barrel of a rifled weapon. Due to this thread, a “twist of the flow” is created to form a microbubble jet. This jet cleans the surface of teeth and gums much better than a regular one.

Advantages of Donfeel OR-820M compared to other irrigators:

  • Multi-function: oral irrigator + nasal irrigator.
  • Microbubble cleaning technology.
  • Ease of use. The lid for the water tank closes tightly, the nozzles are located in a separate dustproof block, each in an individual compartment.
  • Can be used by the whole family. The attachments have different color borders, which will allow different users not to confuse them.
  • Comprehensive cleaning. In addition to the usual attachments, the device is equipped with one attachment for cleaning the tongue and two attachments for cleaning periodontal pockets.
  • Can be placed on the wall to save space.
  • Large liquid capacity (500 ml) ensures comfortable and leisurely irrigation.
  • Affordable price.

The device is compact and has an ergonomic design.

All parts of the irrigator are easily removable, making them very convenient to wash.

Dentists do not recommend using plain water with irrigators. It removes food residues well. But, unfortunately, it is not able to destroy harmful bacteria - the source of gingivitis, periodontitis and caries. This is why oral balms are so desirable.

Comments

I have a travel Donfeel, and also have a tabletop device from the same company. So, the road one seems to me more powerful, since it hits the gums very hard. It is difficult and even uncomfortable to use. Why such obvious differences?

Dear Makar, the whole point is that portable irrigators have a two- or three-stage water supply system, the pressure in which ranges from 300 to 620 kPa. But desktop devices have 10 modes, due to which the regulation of pressure on the gums can be made smooth and comfortable. That's why you feel the differences. To make hygiene care more comfortable with a portable model, try using a periodontal attachment instead of a classic one.

Irrigator Donfeel OR-820M - reviews

I've been using it for almost a year now. I found out about this device by chance; I had never heard about it from dentists, which is simply surprising. First I went to the clinic for a comprehensive teeth cleaning, and then, when I learned that there was a device for home use, I spent a long time studying the reviews and decided to buy it. Of course, the principle of operation is different between cleaning in a clinic and using an irrigator at home. In dentistry, they clean with a water solution with particles of either salt or some other product, but often such cleaning cannot be done, as the enamel will deteriorate. But at home, a water irrigator is ideal for regular use. I have always had problems with my gums and plaque on my teeth. It is worth noting that it is almost impossible to clean it with a toothbrush, since it still remains along the edge of the gums and between the teeth. Due to poor care, a pocket has formed near one tooth, something cannot be cleaned out from there with anything - neither toothpicks, nor a toothbrush, nor floss - only with an irrigator. The first few days of use, even with a slight pressure of water, the gums bled, there was an unpleasant smell, you are especially surprised by the pieces of food flying out of the teeth when using the irrigator after brushing your teeth. After a while the bleeding stopped and I was able to increase the water pressure. With regular use, plaque on the teeth disappears and the gums acquire a healthy pink appearance. About the brand and model itself - I chose it based on the price-quality ratio; also a big plus was the nozzles for rinsing the nose, which I sometimes use. The reviews of people who write that the irrigator has low pressure are very confusing. I still use it at medium speed and, in principle, this is enough. A 500 ml container is enough to thoroughly treat all teeth. But I also discovered a minus - when the pressure increases by speed 3 (there are 4 divisions in total, I use it most often in the middle), the water pressure knocks the nozzle out of the handle. Of course, it doesn’t fly out at all, but a gap forms between the nozzle and the handle, from which the solution splashes in all directions. After it flies out, I correct it, and then it doesn’t pop out anymore. But this is annoying, because over time the connections become loose, and I think it will bounce more and more often. I use regular warm tap water and add regular mouth rinse. When purchasing, they gave me a branded balm, I liked the product, but for me it’s a little expensive for regular purchases. My conclusion is that I really like the effect that the irrigator has on my gums. When I was at the dentist and asked what to do with the gum pocket, I was told that I couldn’t do anything about it, I needed to go to the clinic and periodically clean it. The price of an irrigator cannot be compared with the amount spent on going to the dentist for cleaning!
